Basic FX Suite and Advanced FX Suite now support Steinberg Licensing
While all current Steinberg programs have long been using the Steinberg Licensing technology introduced at the beginning of 2022, the Basic FX Suite and Advanced FX Suite plug-in collections supplied with many Steinberg audio interfaces were still dependent on eLicenser-based licenses.
With the updates TOOLS for AXR4 3.2.0, TOOLS for UR-C V3.2.0 and Basic FX Suite 3.0.0 released on November 12, 2024, this changes: The new versions Advanced FX Suite 3.0.0 and Basic FX Suite 3.0.0 are compatible with Steinberg Licensing!

Activating the Steinberg Licensing-based license
⚠️ To use the VST, AU and AAX plug-ins included in the new version of the Basic FX Suite or Advanced FX Suite, you must first activate the new Steinberg Licensing-based license. Read on to find out how.
Before you get started, please note the following requirements:
- You have installed the Steinberg Download Assistant.
If not, download the installer here: ⬇macOS | ⬇Windows - An eLicenser-based Basic FX Suite or Advanced FX is registered in your MySteinberg account.
If the above requirements are met, please proceed as follows:
- Quit all programs.
- Log in to your MySteinberg account.

Go to “Vouchers”.
- Click on “Redeem” on the voucher for the Basic FX Suite or Advanced FX Suite license.
If the voucher is missing, please ensure that an eLicenser holding a Basic FX Suite or Advanced FX Suite license is registered in your MySteinberg account. After a new registration, it may take up to 30 minutes for the voucher to appear. - Follow the on-screen instructions that will guide you through the activation process.
- Tip: Finally, open the Steinberg Activation Manager to verify that your new Steinberg Licensing-based Basic FX Suite or Advanced FX Suite license is active.
Now you can use the included plug-ins with the Steinberg Licensing-based license!
You can also continue to use older Basic FX Suite or Advanced FX Suite versions with an eLicenser-based license. Please note, however, that the outdated eLicenser system was shut down and old eLicenser-based licenses can no longer be renewed - e.g., after a system change. Read more...
