If you know which chord you want to assign to a specific chord pad, you can use a MIDI keyboard or the On-Screen Keyboard.

Prerequisite

You have selected a MIDI track or an instrument track.

Procedure

  1. Select one ore more chord pads to which you want to assign new chords.
  2. On the extended toolbar, activate Assign from MIDI Input.

The chord pad frame is highlighted in red to indicate that it is enabled for MIDI Input.

  3. On your MIDI keyboard or on the On-Screen Keyboard, press the keys that make up the chord that you want to assign.

The chord and the voicing are assigned to the chord pad, and you obtain an acoustic feedback of the chord.

    Note

The assigned voicing can be changed by setting the Adaptive Voicing parameter. If you want to prevent changes to the voicing for a specific chord pad, right-click the chord pad, and on the chord pads zone toolbar, click Lock.

  4. Repeat the steps above to assign chords to the other chord pads.
