You can import MIDI files into Cubase.

Procedure

  1. Select File > Import > MIDI File.
  2. Optional: If a project is open, choose if you want to create a new project.

    If you select No, the MIDI file is imported into the current project.

  3. In the file dialog that opens, locate and select the MIDI file, and click Open.

Result

The MIDI file is imported. The result depends on the contents of the MIDI file and the settings you made in the Import Options section of the Preferences dialog (MIDI—MIDI File page).
