Cubase can automatically save copies of all open project files with unsaved changes.
Only the project files are automatically saved. To include the files from the Pool and to save your project at a different location, use Back up Project.
Cubase can automatically save copies of all open projects with unsaved changes. To set this up, activate the Auto Save option in the Preferences dialog (General page).
Auto save files are saved in the Auto Saves folder inside your project folder.
The files are named Name-xx-(last edit).bak, where “Name” corresponds to the name of the project and “xx” is an incremental number. Unsaved projects files are automatically saved in a similar way as UntitledX-xx-(last edit).bak, with “X” being the incremental number for unsaved projects.
In the Preferences dialog (General page), you can use the Auto Save Interval setting to define the time intervals at which a project file is automatically saved. You can use the Maximum Number of Auto Save Files option to specify how many files are created with the Auto Save function.
When the maximum number of files is reached, the existing files are overwritten, starting with the oldest file.
