You can show system-attached items either above different instrument families or above specific players in each layout independently. Multiple items are categorized as system-attached items, including system-attached text, rehearsal marks, tempo marks, repeat markers, and repeat endings.

Procedure
  1. Press Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-L to open Layout Options.
  2. In the Layouts list, select the layouts in which you want to change the positions of system-attached items.

    By default, the layout currently open in the music area is selected when you open the dialog. You can select other layouts by using the selection options in the action bar, clicking and dragging across multiple layouts, Shift-clicking adjacent layouts, and Ctrl/Cmd-clicking individual layouts.

  3. In the category list, click Staves and Systems.
  4. In the System-attached Items section, choose one of the following options for Show system-attached items above:
    • To show system-attached items above bracketed/braced groups, choose Families.

    • To show system-attached items above specific players, choose Specific Players.

  5. Do one of the following:
    • If you chose Families, activate the checkbox for each instrument family above whose first bracketed/braced group you want system-attached items to appear.

    • If you chose Specific Players, activate the checkboxes in the table for each type of system-attached item and the players above which you want it to appear.

  6. Activate/Deactivate Show system-attached items above first soloist.
  7. Activate/Deactivate the following options for Also show below bottom staff:
    • Repeat endings

    • Rehearsal marks

  8. Click Apply, then Close.
Result

System-attached items appear at the corresponding positions in the selected layouts.

Note

When system-attached items are shown above instrument families, they only appear above staves with brackets/braces.

You can change bracket grouping in each layout independently.
