Cycle playback allows you to repeat specific passages of music in an infinite loop. This can be useful if you want to try out alternative chords or melodies, for example.

In Dorico Elements, you can use cycle locators to determine the start and end positions for the loop.

Cycle locators are displayed as vertical lines with triangle handles at the top and a translucent line between them. Cycle locators appear purple when cycle playback is activated, and gray when it is deactivated.

Note

You cannot use cycle playback during MIDI recording. This is planned for future versions.
