You can change the playback template applied to the current project; for example, if you want to use a different sound library for playback. Re-selecting playback templates resets them to their default settings.

Prerequisite

You have installed all the sounds that you want to use for playback.

Procedure
  1. Choose Playand thenPlayback Template to open the Apply Playback Template dialog.
  2. Select the playback template that you want to use.
    Note
    • We recommend that you select the Auto playback template, which automatically uses all sounds with factory default playback templates that you have installed on your computer, including prioritizing the best available sounds for each instrument.

    • Dorico Elements only shows playback templates for sounds that you have installed and for which you own licenses.

  3. Click Apply and Close.
Result

The playback template applied to the current project is changed. If you re-selected the playback template already in use, the playback template is reset.

Sounds are loaded into plug-in instances in their score order.

Tip
  • You can change the default playback template used for all future projects on the Play page in Preferences. If Dorico Elements detects that you have installed new sounds, a dialog appears that allows you to update your default playback template.

  • You can also load sounds only for instruments without assigned sounds by choosing Playand thenLoad Sounds for Unassigned Instruments.
