The key signatures popover allows you to input key signatures using the keyboard.

You can open the key signatures popover in Write mode in any of the following ways when either an item is selected or the caret is active:

  • Press Shift-K.

  • In the Notations toolbox, click Popovers , then Key Signatures .

  • Select an existing key signature and press Return.

  • Choose Writeand thenCreate Key Signature.

The key signatures popover comprises the following:

  1. Popover handle

    Allows you to move the popover vertically by clicking and dragging.

  2. Popover icon

    Identifies the key signatures popover. Matches the corresponding button in the Notations toolbox on the right of the window.

  3. Popover entry field

    Allows you to enter key signatures.

  4. Local/Global indicator

    Indicates whether you are inputting locally onto specific staves or globally onto all staves. Allows you to change the scope.

Number of flats (major key)

The number followed by b or f, such as 4b or 4f
