You can change the background color of individual text frames; for example, if you want title pages to show text with a colored background filling the page.

Prerequisite

  • The lower zone is shown.

  • Properties is selected in the lower zone toolbar.

  • Frames Frames button is selected in the Engrave toolbox.

  • If you want to change the background color of text frames on a page template, you have opened the page template in the page template editor.

Procedure

  1. In Engrave mode, select the text frames whose background color you want to change.
  2. In the Properties panel, activate Background color in the Text group.
  3. Click the color preview to open the Select Color (Windows)/Colors (macOS) dialog.
  4. Select or create the color you want.
  5. Click OK to save your changes and close the dialog.

Result

The background color of the selected text frames is changed.

Tip

You can change the background color of selected text in text frames by using text editor options, and individual paragraphs by using paragraph styles.
