You can add borders to individual text frames; for example, if you want to make their boundaries clear.

Prerequisite

  • The lower zone is shown.

  • Properties is selected in the lower zone toolbar.

  • Frames Frames button is selected in the Engrave toolbox.

  • If you want to add borders to text frames on a page template, you have opened the page template in the page template editor.

Procedure

  1. In Engrave mode, select the text frames to which you want to add borders.
  2. In the Properties panel, activate Show border in the Text group.

Result

Borders are added to the selected text frames.

Tip
  • You can show borders around text in text frames by using paragraph styles set to show borders by default. However, we recommend only doing this for text frames that contain a single paragraph.

  • You can change the border style used by each paragraph style by default in the Paragraph Styles dialog.

After Completing This Task

  • You can change the thickness and color of text frame borders.

  • You can change the padding between the borders and contents of text frames.
