You can change the length of individual tick barlines; for example, to denote the mid-point of plainsong chants.

Prerequisite

  • The lower zone is shown.

  • Properties is selected in the lower zone toolbar.

  • Graphic Editing Graphic Editing button is selected in the Engrave toolbox.

Procedure

  1. In Engrave mode, select the tick barlines whose length you want to change.
  2. In the Properties panel, activate Tick adj. in the Time Signatures group.
  3. Change the values in the value fields.

    • Out controls the length of tick barlines outside the staff.

    • In controls the length of tick barlines inside the staff.

Result

The length of the selected tick barlines is changed. This also affects subsequent tick barlines you input after the selected tick barlines, up to the next existing tick barline with a different length set, time signature, or the end of the flow, whichever comes first.
