Enabling/Disabling dynamic rules for contrapuntal music

In addition to polyphonic voice balancing, Dorico Pro can identify contrapuntal themes specifically, and emphasize them and bass notes by different amounts, relative to any remaining accompanying notes. You can enable/disable rules for contrapuntal music project-wide, and change how much they affect the dynamic level.

Procedure

1. Press Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-P to open Playback Options.
2. In the category list, click Dynamics.
3. In the Polyphonic Instruments section, activate/deactivate Use rules for contrapuntal music.
4. Optional: If you activated Use rules for contrapuntal music, change the values of the available options.
5. Click Apply, then Close.
