You can access the same project file on multiple devices, such as a desktop computer and an iPad, at the same time.

When you save the project on one device, the other devices show a warning that informs you of the change. You can then choose one of the following options:

  • Reload: Closes the project on the current device, and reopens it with the changes from the external device. Only available when you have no unsaved changes on the current device.

  • Save As: Allows you to save the project on the current device with a new file name. Only available when you have unsaved changes on the current device.

  • Cancel: Ignores changes made to the project from the external device.

You can prevent Dorico from showing you warnings about external project updates in Preferences > General > Files. We recommend disabling such warnings only when accessing projects from a single device.

Note
  • Automatic project saving on Dorico for iPad can overwrite remote projects, such as on your iCloud Drive.

  • Dorico for iPad automatically creates a dedicated Dorico folder; you cannot create this folder from the desktop.
