You can export all visible text in the project to a CSV file; for example, to populate catalog databases, or to proof-read text across the project.

Text exports include all fields in the Project Info dialog, text in text frames, text items, lyrics, tempo marks, dynamics, and so on.

Prerequisite

You have opened a layout in the music area that contains the visible text that you want to export.

Procedure

  1. Choose File > Export > Text to open the File Explorer/macOS Finder.
  2. Specify a name and location for the CSV file.
  3. Click Save.

Result

All visible text in the layout currently open in the music area is exported and saved in the selected location as a CSV file. By default, the CSV file opens automatically in your default application for CSV files.

Tip

You can change whether exported text CSV files open automatically in Preferences > General > Files.
