You can assign specific keys or buttons on your MIDI keyboard to perform functions and access menu items. For example, if you want to navigate using MIDI keys during chord symbol input.
Procedure

Press Ctrl/Cmd-, to open Preferences.

In the category list, click Key Commands.

Select the menu item or function to which you want to assign MIDI commands.
For particularly long names, you can hover over them to see a tool tip.

In the MIDI Learn section, click MIDI Learn
.

Press the key or button on your MIDI keyboard that you want to assign to the selected parameter.

Click Add MIDI Command.

Click Apply, then Close.
