You can enable/disable mouse editing for notes; for example, if you want to transpose and move notes by dragging with the mouse.

This does not affect your ability to edit notations using the mouse, which is always enabled.

Procedure

  1. Press Ctrl/Cmd-, to open Preferences.
  2. In the category list, click Note Input and Editing.
  3. In the Note Input section, activate/deactivate Enable note pitch and rhythmic position editing using the mouse.
  4. Click Apply, then Close.

Result

The setting is changed in the current project and for all future projects.

Tip

You can assign a key command for Toggle Mouse Note Editing on the Key Commands page in Preferences.
