You can create runs of consecutive grace notes for different instruments in percussion kits; for example, to indicate a short drum fill.

Procedure

  1. In Write mode, input the grace notes that you require for each instrument in the percussion kit.
    Note
    • When percussion kits use the grid or five-line staff presentation types, grace notes at the same rhythmic position appear as a chord by default.

    • We recommend creating grace note runs by starting from the end of the run and working backwards.

  2. Select the grace note that you want to be the penultimate note in the run.
  3. Press Alt/Opt-Left Arrow once.
  4. Select the grace note that you want to appear to the left of the previous note.
  5. Press Alt/Opt-Left Arrow twice.
  6. Optional: Repeat steps 4 to 5 as many times as required for the number of grace notes in your run.
    Note

You must increase the number of Alt/Opt-Left Arrow presses by 1 each time.

Result

The grace notes at the selected rhythmic position are spread out and appear as a run. This affects both the grid and five-line staff presentation types.

Example

Run of four grace notes on a five-line staff percussion kit
