Graphical User Interface errors in Cubase 13 / Nuendo 13
Problem
On some systems, there are GUI glitches occurring in Cubase 13 / Nuendo 13. These show up as white UI areas, elements rendered out-of-place or flickering (e.g., in SuperVision, Groove Agent SE, or the Project Window when scrolling).
Solution
This has been fixed in Cubase 13.0.21. Please update your Cubase installation via the Steinberg Download Assistant or the download pages.
Just in case the fix should not work for you, please follow these workaround instructions, which describe how to create a dedicated program or game profile for Cubase in the NVIDIA resp. AMD settings.
Intel GPUs
These glitches are rare on GPUs by Intel. If they occur, there is unfortunately no solution or workaround yet.
NVIDIA
- Open the NVIDIA Control Panel via the corresponding icon in the Windows Taskbar.
- On the left, under '3D settings', select 'Manage 3D settings'.
- On the right, select the tab 'Program Settings'.
- Under step 1, click on the 'Add...' button.
- Navigate to the Cubase or Nuendo installation and select Cubase13.exe or Nuendo13.exe.
The default path is: C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 13 or C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Nuendo 13 - Under step 2, select 'High-performance NVIDIA processor'.
⚠️ This option is not available with the Studio Driver. - Under step 3, select 'Vertical Sync' from the 'Feature' list and set it to 'Fast'.
- On a few systems, it might be necessary to set 'Power management mode' to 'Prefer maximum performance'.
AMD
- Right-click on the Desktop and select "AMD Radeon@ Settings" from the contextual menu.
- Click on the 'Gaming' Menu.
- The Games tab will automatically be selected.
- Click on the icon with three dots on the top-right.
- Select 'Add a Game...'.
- Locate the Cubase13.exe or Nuendo 13.exe in C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 13 or C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Nuendo 13.
- Cubase 13 or Nuendo 13 will appear in the Library.
- Double click it to open the Cubase/Nuendo-specific options.
- Enable the 'Radeon® Anti-Lag'-option.
