The section at the top of the browser shows the path to the file that is selected in the location tree on the left.

  • Activate Show Scan column to display a column with checkboxes that allow you to decide which folders to scan for files. You can also activate subfolders for the scan. The content of the scanned folders makes up the MediaBay database.

    Note

Only files that are registered in the MediaBay database can be accessed via the MediaBay.

The checkboxes give a visual indication of whether folders are scanned, not scanned, or whether subfolders within these folders are scanned.

The topmost folder is scanned in its entirety, the center folder contains subfolders that are scanned, and the lowermost folder is not scanned at all.
    Tip

Once you have activated all folders that you want to be scanned, you can hide the column again. Your settings remain active, even when the column is not shown.

  • Note

The MediaBay database is shared across all Steinberg products. Changing the scan folders for one product affects the database for all products that use it.
