You can replace the samples that are used by your sample zones. This is useful if you have modified your samples in an external editor or converted them to another format, for example.
- In the Program Tree, select the zones in which you want to replace samples.
- Open the context menu for one of the zones, and select Import/Export > and thenReplace Samples.
-
In the Replace Samples dialog, navigate to the folder in which the samples are located.
Tip
When you select a sample in the list on the right, the available sample information is shown in the text field below the tree view.
-
Select a method for replacing samples.
-
Replace Identical Names replaces the samples with new samples if their names are identical.
This is useful if you processed samples and saved them under the same name in a different location.
-
Replace by Root Key replaces the samples with new samples that have the same root key, regardless of the file name.
-
Replace by Search Pattern performs a search for the samples to replace the current samples.
This method can be used if parts of the sample name have changed, for example, due to processing or saving.
Enter the part of the name that has changed in the text field. Samples are replaced if the remaining parts of the sample name are identical. For example, if the name Sample_Mix_1_C3.wav has changed to Sample_Mix_2_C3.aiff, enter *Mix_2*.aiff in the text field.
-
-
Locate the new samples.
Tip
The info text in the lower right section indicates how many samples are replaced, and in how many zones. If no samples are found, select another method for finding matching samples.
-
Optional: To listen to the samples before using them to replace the existing samples, activate Preview and use your MIDI keyboard.
To preview the samples at the correct pitch, specify how to detect the root key of the new sample.
-
Root Key from Sample File uses the root key that is saved in the file header of the sample file.
-
Root Key Text from Sample Name extracts the root key from the sample file name. This function searches for the root key in text form.
-
Root Key Number from Sample Name extracts the root key from the sample file name. This function searches for the root key as a MIDI note number.
-
Keep Zone Root Key uses the root key of the zone. This option is only available when replacing a single sample.
-
-
Optional: Activate Read Markers from Sample File.
If this option is activated, any sample start/end and loop start/end markers within the replacement sample files are applied to the current sample zone, allowing you to try out different samples without losing their marker settings.
- Click OK.
