How to delete old ASIO device entries

Problem

After the installation/uninstallation of audio card drivers, old or unneeded ASIO drivers are still selectable in your ASIO host application.

Cause

Often, uninstallers do not remove these entries from the Windows registry, or the uninstallation was not successful at all.

Solution

If this happens, you have to manually delete the old entries in the Windows registry.

  • Open the Windows registry: Start → Run → regedit
  • Open the folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE → Software → ASIO.
  • Delete the unnecessary audio card entries by right-clicking the entry and choosing "Delete".

Do not alter any other entries since this can seriously damage the functionality of your system!
