Mac OS X: Running Steinberg software as 32-bit or 64-bit program

Since Snow Leopard (10.6), Mac OS X is a 64-bit operating system.

In contrast to the Windows editions, the 32- and 64-bit versions of Cubase and other Steinberg programs on Mac OS X share the same installation. In order to start a Steinberg program as a 32- or 64-bit application, please follow these steps:
  • Close all programs.
  • Select the Steinberg software in the "Applications" folder.
  • Press the keys [cmd] + [I] to open the Info window.
  • Disable or enable "Open in 32-bit mode".
  • Start the program as usual.
