Mac OS X: Steinberg Download Assistant stopped working after auto-update

Problem

After it has been updated to the latest version, the Steinberg Download Assistant can no longer be used on OS X Mavericks (10.9), OS X Yosemite (10.10) or OS X El Capitan (10.11).

Background

Apple operating systems prior to macOS X 10.12 are no longer supported by the Steinberg Download Assistant. Due to technical reasons it is even not possible to run older Steinberg Download Assistant versions on these platforms.

Solution

Please find required downloads for legacy (Mac) OS X versions by browsing the download section of our website:

https://www.steinberg.net/en/support/downloads.html

Simplifying downloads was the only challenge the Steinberg Download Assistant compatible with the now unsupported OS X versions had to cope with. It was not capable of dealing with the tasks listed below. On current operating systems they are part of the Steinberg Download Assistant's feature set.

Redeeming Download Access Codes

As before, if you have a Download Access Code you want to redeem on an Apple operating system prior to macOS X 10.12, please log in to your MySteinberg account or register here.

Once you've logged in, click on "Enter Download Access Code" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Activating licenses

As before, if you need to activate a license on an Apple operating system prior to macOS X 10.12 and you have an unused Activation Code, please follow the instructions given in this Help Center article:

Software/license activation (how to use activation codes)
