Newly purchased content cannot be found in older Cubase/Nuendo versions

Problem

Content purchases delivered with a Download Access Code for the new Steinberg Licensing license management cannot be found neither the MediaBay nor the Media Rack of Cubase/Nuendo releases older than version 12. This applies to all content for Retrologue 2, Padshop 2 and Groove Agent 5.

An overview of all content that has been migrated so far, can be found in this article.

Cause

Older Cubase/Nuendo releases do not support the new Steinberg Licensing and thus cannot access the content sets that come with this new license type.

Solution

Retrologue 2 / Padshop 2

Both VST Instruments do not have their own MediaBay browser to make the content accessible, and thus no workaround is available. As mentioned in the system requirements for the content sets, updating to Cubase 12/Nuendo 12 is the only option for now.

However, a solution for older host versions is being worked on and planned for later in 2023.

If you have purchased affected content already, please reach out to support for help.

Groove Agent 5

While it is not possible to use the hosts for browsing the content, Groove Agent 5 has a built-in MediaBay which will still show the content. Please make sure to have the latest Groove Agent 5.1.11 (as of writing) installed.

For full compatibility, an update to Cubase/Nuendo 12 is recommended.
