At least one track is always selected in the Project window. You can use several methods to select tracks.
Procedure
Do one of the following:

To select one track, click on it in the track list or click the corresponding meter.

To select multiple tracks, hold down Ctrl/Cmd, and click on them.

To select multiple contiguous tracks, click on the first one, then hold down Shift, and click on the last track that you want to select.

To select the track above/below the currently selected track, press Up Arrow/Down Arrow.

To extend the selection upwards/downwards, hold down Shift, and use the arrow keys.
