Crossfades ensure a smooth transition from one sound to another.
You can either create individual crossfades when pasting an audio segment into another one, or you can opt for WaveLab to automatically generate crossfades whenever you perform particular editing operations.
Procedure
Result
The crossfade is created.
Note
-
Any audio following the selection into which you paste is moved farther toward the end.
-
Any excess audio in the copied selection following the crossfade is set to full level.
Note
If both audio selections contain full level sections in the crossfade area; for example, after normalizing both files, there is a risk of clipping and distortion. To remedy this, reduce the amplitude of both files by 3 dB to 6 dB, and repeat the process.
