Yamaha Omnivocal Beta shows an error: "Omnivocal Beta Is Not Available in This DAW"

Problem

When you open Omnivocal Beta you see the following error:

"Omnivocal Beta Is Not Available in This DAW"

Background

Omnivocal’s text-based vocal shaping feature requires a specific connection to the VST application. It works exclusively on Instrument Tracks and is not supported in the VSTi Rack. If inserted into the VSTi Rack, this error message will appear.

Solution

Remove Omnivocal Beta from the VSTi Rack (in the Right Zone) and create an Instrument Track instead. Then select Omnivocal Beta as the instrument.
